Derrick Bransby earned his BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013 and MBA from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School in 2019. He brings more than eight years of professional consulting experience to the Health Policy program. Most recently, Derrick was a senior manager at St. Onge Company where he worked with healthcare clients to develop and implement operational strategies that acknowledge relationships between people, place, and process. Prior to St. Onge, he was a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton. Derrick has engaged in research throughout his academic career. Most recently, his work focused on interprofessional respect and collaboration between nurses and physicians in acute care settings. Broadly, his research interests lie in organizing dynamics among teams performing complex, knowledge-intensive work—particularly in healthcare—and relationships between team performance, health outcomes, and the built environment.
