Gayeong received her AB with High Honors in Economics and Comparative Literature from Dartmouth College in 2022. During her time at Dartmouth, she researched the burden of COVID-19 in developing countries, the impact of foreign aid in Afghanistan, and the U.S. nurse practitioner labor market. Before starting graduate school, Gayeong was as a pre-doctoral research fellow at MIT Blueprint Labs, where she worked with Professors Joshua Angrist, David Autor, and Amanda Pallais on projects in labor economics and economics of education. She also brings policy experience through internships at the American Enterprise Institute, Council on Foreign Relations, and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. Currently, Gayeong’s research focuses on the quality of nursing and medical education as well as the impact of FDA regulations on innovation.
