PhD Candidate in Health Policy (G2, Methods for Policy Research)

 

 

 



Nadia Bell graduated from University of California, Berkeley in 2019 with a B.A. in Statistics with distinction. While at Berkeley, she served as a research assistant at the Goldman School of Public Policy. Since 2019, Nadia has worked at Mathematica as a Statistical Analyst in the Health Policy Assessment division where she has contributed to numerous research and evaluation projects to inform local, state, and federal policy. Her work has been published in journals such as Health Affairs, Journal of Behavioral Health Services, Psychiatric Services and Survey Practice and presented at the Joint Statistical Meetings and AcademyHealth ARM. In addition, she has been published in news outlets such as the Harvard Crimson and US News &amp; World Report. Nadia is a James M. and Cathleen D. Stone PhD Scholar in Inequality &amp; Wealth Concentration, an affiliate of the FxB Center for Health and Human Rights, and a fellow with The People Lab at the Harvard Kennedy School. Nadia’s research interests are around improving evidence-based policy-making practices for social and behavioral health services. She is passionate about ensuring vulnerable populations can easily use the social safety net to meet basic needs, and are treated with dignity and respect while doing so.
