Carolyn San Soucie
Carolyn San Soucie graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Plan II Honors, an interdisciplinary liberal arts degree. Concurrently, she received a graduate certificate in Public Health from the UTHealth School of Public Health in Austin. After graduation, Carolyn began working as a research assistant at the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) in Washington, D.C. She contributed to a wide range of research conducted at MedPAC, including topics such as access to care in rural areas, hospital closures, insurer market consolidation, post-acute care benefit design, beneficiary enrollment, and alternative payment models. Carolyn's research interests focus on hospital payment policy, Medicare expansion, and healthcare consolidation. Outside of health policy, Carolyn loves to swim, hike, camp, and cook up spicy dinners for her friends and family.
