Connie Xu

PhD Candidate in Health Policy (G1, Economics)

Connie Xu received her bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Statistics from the University of Chicago in 2019. As an undergraduate, she explored the impact of changes in nurse practitioner scope of practice on the relocation decision of primary care providers in her senior thesis and completed research internships at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Following graduation, she worked as a pre-doctoral research fellow for Professor Amy Finkelstein at MIT where she contributed to projects pertaining to the quality of care in post-acute settings and selection in insurance markets. Her current research interests focus on how the organization of the medical workforce and provider behavior impact productivity and innovation in health care.
