Crystal Guo

PhD Candidate in Health Policy (G1, Management)

Crystal Guo received her B.A. in English and Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2019 and completed her Health Policy and Management, Master of Public Health program at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health in 2023. Between undergraduate and graduate studies, she worked at Guidehouse as a Consultant and Senior Consultant in Healthcare Strategy advising clients across payer, provider, and state government. As a graduate student, she has conducted research on the impact of CommunityConnect, a social needs case management program implemented under California’s Whole Person Care Pilot by Contra Costa Health. Her work has been published in journals such as Annals of Internal Medicine and Health Services Research. Crystal is also passionate about teaching and has 7 semesters of teaching experience across her academic career, including undergraduate courses in public health and health economics. As a Health Policy PhD student, Crystal is interested in studying inter-organizational partnerships across healthcare and social sectors, interdisciplinary teams, and coordination of care for complex patients. Her broad research interests include collaboration, integration, and patient engagement.
