Ilana Salant

PhD Candidate in Health Policy (G6, Economics)

Ilana Salant is a 6th year PhD student in Health Policy and Economics at Harvard. She received her bachelor's degree in Economics from Barnard College in 2016. While attending Barnard, Ilana interned at the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Economics. After graduating from Barnard, she pursued her master's degree in Economics at the Toulouse School of Economics, specializing in the Economics of Markets and Organizations and graduating summa cum laude. Prior to joining Harvard, Ilana worked as a pre-doctoral research fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. Her current research focuses on the economics of community-based and long-term care services, with a particular emphasis on the home health care industry. Ilana's work in the PhD program has been supported by the NBER Pre-doctoral Fellowship in Aging and Health (2022-2024).
