PhD Candidate in Health Policy (G2, Methods for Policy Research)

Katarina Swanson holds a BA in Economics from Carleton College and an MSc in Health Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE). Following her graduation from Carleton, she spent three years at The Lewin Group working on the evaluation of the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement (BPCI) initiative for the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). After her master’s degree, Katarina supported research focused on long-term care for aging and disabled populations in England. Katarina is interested in research related to maternal and children’s health. In particular, she is drawn to questions which analyze the impact of safety net policies on health outcomes. Outside of health policy research, Katarina loves to hike, ski, and run.
