Lia Pak

PhD Candidate in Health Policy (G1, Political Analysis)

Lia Pak graduated from Macalester College with a BA in Biology and Political Science in 2023. She received additional training in public health and health equity as a 2022 CDC Undergraduate Public Health Scholar based in South Dakota. Following graduation, Lia spent three years working at RAND where she supported a range of health services and policy research grants and contracts. Her work spanned topics including mental health care delivery, opioid use disorder treatment, public health communication, and vaccine access. Lia’s current research interests center on the influence of politics and public opinion on health policies and outcomes, including how communication can be improved between researchers, policymakers, and the public.
