Tanner Houston

PhD Candidate in Health Policy (G1, Management)

Tanner Houston received a BS from the University of Texas Arlington in 2016 where he was a member of the UTA baseball team. He then went on to receive his MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Baylor University in 2020. After graduation, he joined HCA Healthcare as a manager in their physician services group overseeing physician practice operations for clinics of varying sizes and specialties. Most recently, he held a leadership position within the abdominal transplant service line for Medical City Healthcare, HCA’s North Texas Division, and served as the Division’s Ethics and Compliance Officer. He has been engaged in research throughout his graduate studies and early career. Most recently, the focus of his research has been on the cost-effectiveness of Airrosti, a healthcare group that provides alternative treatment options for soft-tissue musculoskeletal injuries. Tanner is interested in studying the impact healthcare financing and policy reform has on corporate and operational strategy of healthcare delivery systems.
