Towo Babayemi
Towo graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2018 with a BS in Neuroscience and earned her MPH in Healthcare Management from UT Health Science Center in 2021. While earning her MPH, Towo volunteered as a breast cancer advocate for local clinics and NGOs (including Susan G. Komen and the National Breast Cancer Coalition) and conducted research on food insecurity for Houston’s Social Determinants of Health Policy Workgroup. In addition to this work, she earned a research fellowship at MD Anderson studying disparities in healthcare utilization and treatment, along with the impact of breast cancer policies on patient outcomes. Her work has been published in journals such as Annals of Surgical Oncology and Advances in Radiation Oncology. After graduating, Towo worked as a Public Health Analyst for The Economist Group, which involved rapid evidence reviews, economic and epidemiological analyses, reports, presentations, and innovative multi-country project engagements. Broadly, her work contributed to policy development across the global health market. Towo is currently interested in healthcare spending, Medicaid, maternal health, and access to care among marginalized groups and, more specifically, immigrant populations
